Anyone know anyone who puts toilet paper in the trashcan afterwards?

I know someone who's entire family and now their kids do so, puts their toilet paper in the trashcan instead of down the toilet when they're finished with their business.

Their reasoning? Because it will back up the toilet when you flush. It's supposed to go in the trashcan.

toilet paper does clog up the pipe if you pile up a bunch of them. i ate corns along with pork blood with pepper and lime ... boy was my poop sticky. i couldn't clean it out with just a few wipes. i wasted half of the roll and clogged up the toilet.

It is my understanding that it is the norm in many places to do this. I owned a bar and I would have some Gautemalans come in during the day to play pool and they told me that is how it is down there. They did it at my bar exactly once before we got that straaightened out and I was pissed at first, but then they explained it is just simply their culture. Maybe they were full of shit and know I pissed I was, but they sounded convincing.

For hygienic reasons there are no trashcans at the toilets in my office complex... but apparently some stupid ass doesnt get it and still leaves the papers in the floor next to the throne! We haven't catched the asshole! Simply disgusting!

i do! but i keep a wal mart bag in the trashcan! some people just toss the paper into the can itself, and then the shit paper sticks to the inside of the can, which makes it a bit awkward when you go to empty it at the community dumpster

It used to be common with illegals from Mexico. I worked for a fiberglass company years ago and you didn't EVER want to use the bathroom in the back. The septic systems in Mexico were [are?] bad and the illegals just assumed that they are that way everywhere.

It used to be common with illegals from Mexico. I worked for a fiberglass company years ago and you didn't EVER want to use the bathroom in the back. The septic systems in Mexico were [are?] bad and the illegals just assumed that they are that way everywhere.

I've heard this too and does make sense but one would think word would get around in Mexico that our septic systems are far more superior than there. You'd think they would catch on, word would get around the meat plants that the toilets flush pretty damn good here the in U.S., but nope, what do they do? they wipe their bean dip on the toilet paper and still throw it on the damn floor.

Another point as to why the word should get around with illegals that the septic systems are good here. Take the cleaning ladies at hotels for instance. One would think when they get home, they'd come home a bit surprised to reveal to the family or should I say families, that not once as they were cleaning many a hotel room that they picked up shitty toilet paper off the bathroom floor. I suppose the family would have a confused look on their faces as to what has happened to all the shitty toilet paper. They might think people in the U.S. pack it up in thier suitcases when they leave, or maybe just maybe it would dong on them that we actually flush the shit down the toilet. Then they would ask if she had to mop up any bathroom floors in any of the rooms and she would respond with a No. Point is, I just think the word would get around that it's "OK" to flush the toilet paper down the crapper here.

Maybe they assumed that the toilets didn't flush right because we put a trash can next to the toilet for the paper [like in Mexico]. The only thing is that if you didn't then the paper would end up on the floor, which is a bigger problem.

Also I have been to Paris three times. Two of the three times someone [the maid?] took a dump right on the middle of the bathroom floor. These were decent hotels. I don't know what's up with this - because we are Americans? or what? The maids were some kind African immigrants in both cases. I searched the web but couldn't find an answer. In both cases - the front desk sent someone to clean it up right away, but they didn't seem that surprised that it happened.
